Park Myung Soo’s “Udon” with Ga-in?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAO4PHFed1Aendofvid
[starttext]
Gagman Park Myung Soo has cleared up the rumors surrounding his next potential track "Udon."

Park Myung Soo's manager Han Kyung Ho stated:

"It's true that we asked E-Tribe (who created the Infinity Challenge-duet song "Naengmyun") for a song. However, "Udon" is from another producer who had asked if we were interested in doing a new single with Brown Eyed Girls member Ga-in. But we declined."

Apparently, prior to receiving this offer, Park Myung Soo had already vested himself to produce the album on his own, hence he had declined the offer.

That's unfortunate, a single with Ga-in would've been pretty awesome. Oh well, at least there's still Naengmyun.

The full track was released recently, and as intended, the combination of the duo’s rich vocals and stirring melody really bring out the song’s purpose as the drama’s “love theme.”

Achieve Group DN, the production company for the OST, commented, “The harmonization of their voices was exceptional. The sad melody and emotional lyrics mesh well together to create a luxurious ballad track that will surely be the best of this winter season.”

Tensi Love’s new song is all about eating cake?!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ErE_ZX5gF0endofvid
[starttext]
Tensi Love is a little known male-female duo consisting of Hwang Ye-jun (male composer) and Koh Ji-hoo (female vocalist) with a musical style that is similar to Clazziquai.

They recently released a music video for their new song Cake House, and it is cute to say the least! Only the female vocalist appeared in the music video, but it's easy to understand why because she's rather cute.

Although the music video does seem a little low budget, I still loved it. I mean it's hard to complain when you have a really cute girl singing a whole song about eating cake. The song might seem simple at first, but it really grows on you the more you listen to it.

All this talk about eating cake reminds me of how I used to nag my mom every year to get me a cake on my birthday. After 7 years of nagging she finally gave in. When I turned 13, I arrived home from school to find my mom waiting for me at the door as usual. However, this time she didn't have a broomstick in her hands, but instead she welcomed me inside with a bright smile. It only became weirder when she told me I could skip my chores for that day, and that I should just head straight into the kitchen. She was being awfully nice to me, and so naturally I became a little suspicious.

However, all the suspicions went straight out the window when I entered the kitchen to find a cake on the table. I was so happy that I was ready to declare it the best birthday ever right then and there. But there was just one thing keeping it from being the perfect birthday, there were no candles. When I asked her why, she told me it was because candles were evil and that every time a candle is lit, a baby penguin dies. I love penguins to death and so I gladly accepted the wooden twigs my mom gave me in lieu of the candles.

My mom told me she personally made the cake herself, and it looked she was telling the truth for once because the cake looked very poorly made. It was supposed to be a mud pie, but it looked more like a mud pile instead. However, like they said, it's the thought that counts.

I felt like I was exploding from excitement, my first ever birthday cake and it was chocolate too! My favorite! I offered her a slice, but she vehemently refused it. That was really odd since she loves chocolate, but I guess she must have wanted me to have the whole cake to myself. My mom has never been this nice to me before. It must be because it was my birthday.

All of my excitement from before immediately disappeared when I took my first bite of the cake. It tasted terrible, just terrible. It felt gritty, bitter, and overall just dirty. I thought it was just because this was my mom's first attempt at making something like this, but then I looked down and an earthworm was crawling out from inside the pie. Then it dawned on me, I guess she meant it when she said it was a mud pie. The whole thing turned out to be just a pile of mud with some wooden twigs on top. I thought my mom had made a mistake, and so I was going to let her know that it was real mud she was using in the cake. However, I had a funny feeling she already knew that because she was already on the flooring laughing like a wild animal. Needless to say, I never bothered her for a birthday cake ever again.

December responds to netizens’ double-edged reaction over “five-octave” performance

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZR6wXj5TOEendofvid

[starttext]

Recently, vocalist duo December garnered a high amount of interest because of the comparisons to IU and her “three-octave vocals”. To recap, the duo delivered an impressive performance on MBC’s “Quiz to Change the World“, and earned the moniker, “five-octaves”.

Although December hoped to gain more exposure from the performance, the reaction they received was double-edged. Netizens did indeed praise the duo for their vocal talents, but clucked over their lack of popularity, leaving comments like, “[December's] vocals are far superior to IU’s, but their skills are not appreciated“, “They cant even appear on variety shows due to visual requirements“, and “It’s a shame they are not popular“.

Surprisingly, the duo responded to the issue and said, “It’s not our lack of popularity but the lack of recognition. Although we are not superstars, we are not utterly unpopular.”

Their agency also replied, “December is not an “unpopular” group. They just lack the recognition the idols achieve through their varied activities in both music and entertainment.”

Music and broadcasting officials added, “December is a skilled group that challenges the scene with their music. They are one of the few rookie vocals groups in the current music industry.”

Will you be on the lookout for more music from December, or are they just a flash-in-the-pan group? Let us know your thoughts down below!

Journalists document nine hours in the life of T-ara

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrZi_MqTIrsendofvid

[starttext]

“December is a crazy month because not only do we have to practice our own performances, but from other artists’ as well…” - T-ara’s Boram

In T-ara’s dressing room at the “2010 Melon Music Awards“, one would be able to see four big bags of clothes and a trunk lying on the ground, next to a vanity stuffed with various makeup tools.

Year-end ceremonies are known for their impressive performances from stars who have shined throughout the year. These artists also participate in special cover performances as well.

The reporters of DongA were able to follow the members of T-ara for nine hours as they went about their busy schedules. The aim was to shed some light on the behind-the-scenes effort that goes into preparing for year-end ceremony performances.

At 3:00 PM, the members are seen dozing off as their hair is being dried and styled. ”I was only able to sleep for exactly one hour. I feel like I’ll fall asleep on stage,” Jiyeon claims.

Hyomin adds, “I accidentally fell asleep while leaving the hair salon today, I almost fell down the stairs.”

The members then reconvene in the waiting room for their camera rehearsal, and are either seen fixing their makeup or checking their accessories. Having to sing two songs in one go, the girls are forced to change outfits and accessories in exactly 30 seconds.

The girls sometimes converse, talking about a mistake they made on stage, or about makeup; sometimes, they comment about the amount of sleep they got in the previous night.

At 5:00 PM, an accident occurs during their camera rehearsal. Right after performing “Why Are You Being Like This“, the girls get changed, only to discover that there’s a problem with their wardrobes.

Their tight outfits were created without thought for the mic and receiver placement, since those things must be fixed onto their backs. Unfortunately, Hyomin and Soyeon are forced to perform “Yayaya“ without being properly zipped up in the back. While the members rehearse on stage, the scene backstage was gloomy, as stylists were seen fussing over the outfit mishap.

Thankfully, it was just a rehearsal, and the members were wearing black shirts that covered their bras. As a last minute effort, the stylists take off the mic receivers from every member except lead vocalist Soyeon, and reposition the mics to the hips.

At 6:30 PM, the members begin eating takeout ordered from a family restaurant. Hyomin comments, “It tastes better than usual. Usually, we just eat kimbap or chips… It’s difficult to set aside time to eat like this.“ However, Hwa Young only finishes a third of her meal; she later explains, “I’m in the middle of a diet. My skin is light and I’m tall, so it makes me look chubbier on screen.”

In the time left over after eating, she rehearses in front of the mirror.

At around 9:00 PM, the girls get ready for their live performance. Seemingly nervous, they continue to down bottles of water. It must be a habit of other singers as well, as there are boxes and boxes of water bottles set up backstage.

T-ara performs their first song without any difficulties, but they meet a problem for their second. Soyeon’s zipper got caught in the mic/receiver, and she refuses to go up.

She is eventually forced to go on stage with her back exposed, but handles the malfuction like a pro, smiling and dancing as if nothing were wrong.

During the spinning part of their choreography, she walks to the side instead. Her facial expression hardens once she exits the stage, and her eyes brim with tears.

At around 6:30 – 6:33.

At 11:30 PM, the girls move to their rehearsal studio in order to practice for their joint performance with SECRET for the December 17th episode of KBS “Music Bank.” The members that were dozing off immediately started up once the music began to play.

Two days later, T-ara was seen performing SECRET’s “Magic” at “Music Bank.” Their hard work and determination reminded the reporters of something Soyeon once said: “If someone were to ask us to choose between standing on stage and sleeping for an hour more, I think all singers would respond the same way: ‘We’d rehearse to stand on stage’.”

And that was just 9 hours in the life of T-ara.

IU addresses Super Junior’s Shindong controversy from ‘Inkigayo’

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUVlv2SGpQ4endofvid

[starttext]

Korea’s ‘national little sister’ IU recently spoke up about the controversy swirling around Super Junior member Shindong and his behavior during her ‘thank you’ speech on SBS’s ‘Inkigayo’ last weekend.

While IU was dropping tears of gratitude during her thank you speech, Shindong was seen joking around lightheartedly, leading to Leeteuk and 2AM’s Changmin trying to lead him away.

It caused IU’s fans to become protective of the singer, and voice out, “Isn’t that a bit too much for a first place winner?”. They felt that Shindong’s behavior was rude and impolite.

However, on the following afternoon, IU wrote on her me2day, “I think there is a great misunderstanding. Shindong oppa and Super Junior sunbaenims congratulated me more than anyone else. I’m sad that this has become a huge misunderstanding ㅜㅜ. Hope you have a good day today!”

Later on, IU uploaded a photo of herself in a fat rabbit costume and wrote, “Rabbit transformation!”
