I ain't no scaredy cat: Fearless feline fights off TWO giant alligators

Ready for battle: The cat gets set to attack the alligator at the Louisiana farm

They are normally used to catching the odd mouse and avoiding the neighbours' dog.
But this cat doesn't seem to be at all bothered by his latest foes - two huge alligators

Reportedly filmed on a farm in Louisiana, this black cat stalked and stared out his enemies before successfully forcing them to both return to the lake.

Take that! Realising his chance, the cat lashes out at the alligator with his left paw

In the two minute YouTube video, the cat is filmed sneaking up on the alligator before swiping a paw at his nose.

The alligator then looks poised to make the cat pay, but instead retreats towards the lake.

And despite the fact the moggy could still be swallowed whole in the alligator's jaws, the pair both lie perfectly still, not wanting to make the first move.

On the retreat: Facing up against the brave cat is too much for the alligator and he returns to the lake

Two's a crowd: The cat again uses his trusty left paw to fight off a second reptile

One stunned onlooker can even be heard saying 'this is unbelievable' and 'that cat has no fear' as the pair stare each other out.

Looking to restore his pride, the reptile returns to the water, and appears to have a secret plan when he and another animal launch a two-pronged attack.

Backing off: Both animals keep their distance as the cat stalks his territory

However, the unafraid feline doesn't back off, instead launching a left hook at the second alligator, who quickly slides off into the water.

Fearful of having to battle the cat again the first alligator stays at the water's edge, allowing the cat to join a friend, who kept a safe distance.

While this cat may have had a lucky escape, alligators are common in Louisiana and are the State reptile.

And while cats are not usually on the menu, a fully grown adult's diet includes beavers, racoons and deer as well as large birds and fish.

The sausage cat: Four foot Stewie named world's longest domestic moggy

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Puss in feet: Stewie stretches out with owner Robin Henderson

The massive Maine Coon moggy - from Reno, Nevada, in the U.S. - is just over four foot long and broke the Guinness world record for the longest domestic cat.
He won the title by a nose from the previous record-holder who was half an inch shorter.

Stewie's owners, Robin Hendrickson and Erik Brandsness, decided to put the five-year-old forward for the record after hearing countless people remark on his length.

The average cat spans 18 inches but Ms Hendrickson says Maine Coons are known as 'the gentle giants' of the cat world.

Measuring 48.5 inches from the tip of your nose to the tip of your tail bone is nothing if you are a snake.

It's not even much of a stretch for a sausage dog.
But Stewie is a cat.

Revenge Of The Cat: Is this YouTube video the last word on 'Cat Woman'?

This can only end one way: 'Sylvester' sizes up 'Cat Woman'

It was only ever a matter of time...

Public condemnation of Mary Bale - the 'Cat Woman' - has been near-universal since she was caught on camera dumping Lola the cat in a wheelie bin.

But, as is so often the case when it comes to us naturally self-mocking Brits, it has been condemnation with a tongue lodged firmly in its cheek.

Slam Dunk: Revenge is sweet

For every one person watching poor Lola being blow-dried on The One Show, surely an ordeal on a par with imprisonment in a wheelie bin, there have been a dozen retweeting the surreal jabberings of a Twitter prankster who has claimed the 'Cat Bin Lady' persona for their very own.

With mad, self-contradictory, messages such as 'Took the rubbish out. Before I knew what I was doing, I'd swung the bag round and flung it over the fence. I think it's in their tree. WHY?' and 'No.35 hasn't taken her milk in. Really feel like pouring it through the letterbox for her. What am I like?' the Cat Bin Lady Twitter feed is one of those rib-tickling nine-day wonders that the internet does so very well.

Mary 'Cat Woman' Bale and Darryl Mann with Lola: The internet has made the strange story of the cat in the bin into a global phenomenon.

But even that streaming collection of bonkers aphorisms pales against Revenge Of The Cat. A neat inversion of the original outrageous CCTV footage it pulls together surreal prank show Trigger Happy TV and the Sylvester and Tweety Pie cartoons in an absurd topical vignette that is frankly a good deal funnier to watch than to have described to you.

Already trending wildly on YouTube it's the viral video of the week.

On a more serious note, prosecutors from the RSPCA will review evidence against 45-year-old Mrs Bale.

A full file on the incident will be compiled and passed to the RSPCA's prosecution department. The legal team have three weeks to decide whether to prosecute.

Yesterday Mrs Bale went into full apology mode after first making light of tossing Lola the tabby into a bin outside a house in Coventry.
