Hands off! Nicki Minaj shows off ehr 'booty protector' with U.S. chat show host George Lopez

She's renowned for her curvy derrière.

But that has caused problems for singer Nicki Minaj, with fans such as Regis and Rihanna grabbing hold of her behind.

So the rapper was given a 'booty protector' made of barbed wire to deflect their attentions by US chat show host George Lopez last night.

No touching: The barbed wire might put off fans such as Rihanna and Regis who have previously enjoyed grabbing her ample curves

The 25-year-old star was appearing on U.S. show Lopez Tonight when she was given a cage made out of wire fashioned into a belt by the show's host.

Lopez said Minaj has 'magical powers in her posterior' and the belt is to protect her from fans who have previously grabbed her bottom.

He said: 'We have to protect your magical powers, so I've created a booty protector for you.'

After being presented with her gift, Minaj said: 'I love this, George thank you! I love this.'

Happy birthday! Lopez presents the rapper with the hand-made belt

The star, who had multi-coloured hair for her appearance on the show, also signed her name on Lopez's black shirt after he asked her to sign his man-boobs.

She even invented a new character for Lopez, she said: 'Her name's Rosa!'
Minaj, who celebrates her birthday on Wednesday, is celebrating with a party at Tao in Las Vegas on Thursday.

For months, rumours have spread across the web, that Minaj underwent surgery or uses pads to boost her bum, especially on urban gossip sites such as Bossip and mediatakeout.com.

But the Massive Attack singer said: 'Absolutely not' in a recent interview with the New York Post.

She added: 'People will pick anything to talk about, and that happens to be the thing at the moment. I love being a conversation piece.'
